The 1460 is the original Dr. Martens boot. Its recognizable DNA looks like this: 8 eyes, grooved sides, a heel-loop, yellow stitching, and a comfortable, air-cushioned sole. This season, we’ve adorned it with a piece of British history: a print of artist William Blake’s “Satan Smiting Job with Sore Boils”. Ever the creative, freethinking individual, Blake perfectly embodies the spirit of Dr. Martens — and that’s why we collaborated with Tate Britain to feature two of his most famous, provocative paintings.
Made with Backhand, a full-grain fully finished comfort leather
The boot sits on our iconic AirWair™ sole, which is oil and fat resistant with good abrasion and slip resistance
Built to last, this unisex boot is made using one of the finest methods of construction: the Goodyear Welt — which means the upper and sole are sewn together in our heat-sealed z-welt stitch
This is a Goodyear-welted product. The upper and sole are heat-sealed and sewn together, not merely glued like many footwear constructions.
